Casa Navarro State Historical Park, San Antonio

Location: 228 S. Laredo Street; (210) 226-4801
Size: .7 acres
Recommended for: historic study

Once the home of patriot Don Jose Antonio Navarro, one of the signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence, today visitors can take a peek back in Texas history with a guided tour of this site. The adobe and limestone structure includes an office used by Navarro, who was a lawyer and legislator and also served as a mayor of San Antonio.

This home is considered one of the few remaining dwellings that give a picture of residences during the years of independence.

Hours: The park is open only 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday; closed Monday and Tuesday.
