Our Lady of the Lake University

A Catholic institution of higher education, Our Lady of the Lake was founded as a private school for girls in 1895. Although it was chartered by the state in 1919, it wasn't opened to both men and women until 1969. The University's Old Main building, completed in 1895, has long been admired for its Victorian Gothic architecture, as is the Gothic Chapel (1923) designed by Leo M. J. Dielmann, which features stairs of Italian marble and stained glass windows.

Our Lady of the Lake offers bachelor's degrees in 56 areas of study, master's degrees in 30, and also offers a doctorate in counseling psychology. It receives accolades for two of its programs, the Worden School of Social Work and the Harry Jersig Center for Communication Disorders. It also offers a popular Weekend College program which offers degrees in several areas.
