Cos House, San Antonio

The Cos House is called by some the birthplace of Texas independence. Here the articles of capitulation were signed in December 9, 1835, relinquishing Mexico's claim to all lands north of the Rio Grande. When General Cos returned to Mexico City and told Santa Anna of the surrender, Santa Anna swore revenge and headed his troops for the Alamo.

Today the home is not open for tours.

Location: 418 Villita St. in La Villita
