with special events; one highlight is the performance by the Guadalupe
Dance Company with new dances and costumes every year. El Grito (Cry for Freedom) Ceremony Known for: reenactment of historic event Event: On September 15, 1810, Father Hidalgo
y Costilla gave the "El Grito" speech to launch Mexico's
rebellion against Spain. The reenactment of "El Grito"
takes place at the Plaza Mexico in HemisFair Park, followed by plenty
