Sheraton Gunter

Dating back to 1909, when Jot Gunter turned the Frontier Hotel into the Gunter Hotel with the aim of creating the definitive hotel for the booming city of San Antonio, the Gunter recently celebrated its 91st anniversary with a re-dedication ceremony and an $8 million renovation project. The guestrooms, lobby and meeting areas have all been beautifully restored.

Guests will find many extras here that make the Gunter unique. A fitness center, outdoor heated pool, 24-hour room service, a pub with a big screen TV, a barber shop and a whirlpool are available to guests, and Barron's Restaurant, located on-property, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Barron's well-known Pasta Bar is open for business for lunch during the week.

Gunter's hospitality continues into the guest rooms, where visitors will find comfortable appointments and generous amenities. Every room includes an alarm clock, voice mail service, private bath, remote control television with 35 channels, pay-per-view movies and Nintendo, irons with ironing boards, and vintage-styled furniture. For guests looking for something more, Sheraton Gunter Suites include all of the amenities as the guest rooms, but also have a parlor for some extra room.

Location: 205 E. Houston St.
