Institute of Texan Cultures, San Antonio

The nearly 30 ethnic groups that played an important role in the founding of Texas are examined at this museum.

Along with an outdoor interpretive area, the focal point of the museum is the dome show, which utilizes 36 screens to portray the people and places of Texas.

On many days, costumed docents educate visitors about early Texas, acting out the role of a chuck wagon cook on a cattle drive or a frontier woman settling the rugged land.

Location: 801 S. Bowie
