Corpus Christi

Children who are curious about the wildlife that lives in calls the Gulf waters home will enjoy the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi. Focusing on the sea life of the Gulf, this expansive aquarium exhibits over 250 species ranging from sharks to sea birds. Beautiful aquariums give visitors a peek at the marine plants and animals life that live around the offshore drilling platforms,in the rarely seen Flower Gardens Coral Reef that lies 115 miles offshore, and also along the beaches of the region. Many touch tanks invite children to feel a small ray or tiny shark; later, kids can climb the purple octopus playscape, a marine-inspired playground.

Galveston

In Galveston, The Aquarium at Moody Gardens provides a look at marine life...all housed in the trademark pyramids of Moody Gardens.

Dallas

Marine life from around the world are the focus of The Dallas Aquarium at Fair Park. Operated by the Dallas Zoo, this aquarium is home to about 5,000 creatures in exhibits that range from the Amazon River to Texas rivers. The shark and piranha feedings at the facility are a favorite with children.

Downtown, the Dallas World Aquarium represents the marine life of four continents with 85,000 gallons of aquariums including a predators exhibit and a 22,000-gallon walk-through tunnel.
