Pedigree Foundation Helps Bloggers Help Shelter Dogs

As native Texans who are constantly crisscrossing the state, we know there are a number of things that Texans take very seriously. These include football, politics, barbecue, and … (supply your own topic here). And, to that list, we’d like to add one more: Texans love their dogs. Whether its a Blue Lacy (the official state dog breed) or a one-of-a-kind mixed breed, Texans and their dogs are inseparable.

With that in mind, we’d like to pass along some information about a new initiative by the Pedigree Foundation to help raise food and dollars for needy dogs. The Foundation is a non-profit organization which awards grants to animal rescue groups and shelters.

The program is directed at individuals and businesses who have their own blogs and is called “Write a Post, Help a Dog.” The goal is the donation of 10,000 pounds of PEDIGREE® food to a designated shelter. Every blog entry posted before September 3, 2011 and mentioning the Pedigree Foundation will result in 20 pounds of food being donated to the cause.

If you don’t have a blog, you can still help by donating dollars directly to the Pedigree Foundation. For more ways to help and more information on the Pedigree campaign, see our post on our sister site, DogTipper.

So, come on you dog-loving Texans, join the cause to feed shelter dogs!
