Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge

This wetlands refuge is a popular stop for ecotourists interested in learning more about the habitats of South Texas.

The park includes birding trails, self-guided walking trails, and visitors centers. Birders come during the winter months as well as during fall and spring migrations.

Location: Off RM 106, 18 miles east of Rio Hondo
