For groups in search of a seaside meeting or incentive, South Padre’s the place. South Padre Island is lined with 34 miles of beach, offering activities ranging from beach olympics to horseback riding and surfing. Driving north of the community, ecotourism-oriented groups find that miles of this strip of sand are completely undeveloped, ready for exploration.

Most of South Padre Island's accommodations lie along the beachfront. Over 5500 guest rooms are available with either a sunrise view on the Gulf of Mexico side for a sunset view or the lagoon side. Getting from the hotels to the beach or the South Padre Island Convention Centre, which can accommodate groups as large as 3,000 delegates, is easy thanks to "The Wave," the island's free trolley system. The trolley makes stops at attractions, shopping areas, and many of the island's many condominiums and resort complexes.

When the work is done, attendees find all types of activities on the island. One of the newest is the Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark on South Padre Island; a $13 million water park filled hundreds of palm trees and rides that range from slides to bodyboarding. The park features the first transportation system of its kind: the Transportainment river system which floats visitors along a water trail for almost a mile.
