Staycations at the Dallas Zoo

Staycations are definitely the hot topic this summer but this destination--the Dallas Zoo--is well worth a trip across the state thanks to its recently unveiled $10 million renovation. OO Smokehouse, Sherman

World War II Battle Reenactment in Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg's National Museum of the Pacific War hosts the Pacific Combat Living History Project, a recreation that utilizes items in the collection to dramatize battle events. Reenactments are held every two months and the highlight of each is the demonstration of the Mark-2 flamethrower.
