George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, College Station


As the world's attention turns to the presidential election this fall, you can take a step back in time to the presidency of George Bush at his library, located on the campus of Texas A & M University in College Station. Recently remodeled, the presidential library and museum includes displays such as the Press Room Theater, a replica of Bush's office at Camp David, a 12-foot section of the Berlin Wall, a Gulf War exhibit, and more.

Forbidden Gardens, Katy

OK, you aren't going to make it to China for the Olympics this week...but you can get a little China travel in with a trip to Katy (near Houston). These gardens recreate a scale model of Beijing's Forbidden City plus a 1/3 scale version of the 6,000-piece terra cotta army created for China's first Emperor.
